Hannah B is 17 months

Another milestone. and 17 is mommy's favourite number. She is so amazing and i never cease to get amazed by the new things that she does. Only yesterday, in the car, she had me and the husband laughing so hard with her singing.  Rasa macam nak record every moment of her life. So, I made a new azam to update this blog everyday with at leaat one memorable thing that Hannah B did.

Semalam was a hectic day, so there's gonna be more than 1 story on her la kan. Yesterday we sent Mak, Abah, Aiman and my cousin Kak Bee to KLIA for umrah. In a way sedih la jugak coz I really wanted to go along but reality is that when you're a wife and mom, certain things tu kena la tack a back seat kan. So, no umrah for me this year. Insya Allah, when TH ada rezeki lebih, we'll go as a family pulak.

On the way tu, Hannah was sitting in the back with her nenek, relishign every single last moment with her favourite person in the world. Dah la bangun really early, she was so excited she refused to nap at all. But mak does have this way with her, less than 10 minutes in her arms, Hannah dah lena tidur.

Dear Diary Mode: We are a family of 3 again :)

The husband is home...yayyyy!!!

received a text from him at 6pm on Wednesday saying that he has landed in JB, back on home soil due to some emergency which he'll explain later and he'll be arriving in KL around midnight. ( Me: feeling happy but at the same time stressed because the house is in a mess and I dont want poor huaband coming back home to messy, cluttered home) So, I borrowed mom's maid Yati for a quick super fast spring cleaning session. (takde la cleaning sangat pun, just to vacuum and mop the lower floor).

After Maghrib, the three of us Yati, Hannah and I went back home. Hannah ate some biscuits before I dragged her to the TV/buai room. Watched some Timmy Time and played with her a bit before put her to sleep in the buai with Nyunyu. Yati started  with the express cleaning. I love the smell of freshly mopped floors. Am getting really tired of this living in 2 houses scenario. I miss my home.

Mom came to pick up Yati around 9. Hannah recognised her voice and quickly demanded to be taken out of the buai. It was funny how when she said "Nenek nak balik dah" lil Hannah actually walked towards her and took her hand and started leading her down the stairs towards the door. When she realised that nenek wasnt planning on taking her along, she bawled and threw a tantrum. So nenek had no choice but to delay going home . I asked Yati if she wouldn't mind having Maggi for dinner while Mom put Hannah to sleep. She wasnt a willing participant but she was fast asleep by 30 Minit with Ustaz Don. I got to enjoy some TV time after Mom left with Yati.

Went to bed around 11ish, plan to wait for the husband cancelled due to fatigue. Bila dah masuk tidur, barulah teringat yang I didnt lock the grill. Since dah lewat, macam malas la pulak nak turun balik. So, I went to sleep dengan perasaan yang tak best where each and every sound scared me. The husband arrived safe around 1.30. Hannah was asleep but I think the noise woke her up a bit. She played with him for awhile before falling back to sleep. Its amazing how even after 2 weeks of absence,  child can immediately recognize her father. awwww :)

The one on Hannah B being mischievious, cheeky and challenging!!!

Grrrrr.... I love my daughter to bits but she has not been easy to handle lately. Maybe its bacause she's just learnt to walk and the joys of unaided freedom of movement is causing her to do things she never did before, or maybe its because she is a baby genius who likes doing things out of curiosity without understanding the consequences of her actions on others.

For instance, I am a curious baby, and I love playing with water bottles. I especially love turning the bottle upside down and watch as the bottle empties itself. Wow, amazingly the bottle feels much lighter now and the cool rush of water dripping down my arm feels so comforting. Who cares if by doing so I've become wet and mommy will now have to change my clothing again! or that I've also ruined mommy's outfit and now she needs to change as well. and she's rushing off to work. This is fun and I should do this again!

mommy needs to rant on a bit more. later. bye.

unproductive me

Third day of the week and I'm still suffering from Monday Blues... well, since its Wednesday already, should it be called Wednesday Blues??? Am hoping to jump out of the slump fast because I cannot afford to keep this bad bahaviour going on any longer. Next week is gonna be super hectic with classes starting for the new semester ans I  am so behind on preparation. If things dont start picking up, I foresee going to class with a smile on my face and absolutelt nothing going on in my brain. Gaaaaaah.... need a pick me up, fast!

So what is it that's causing this lack of productivity? I dont even know where to start. Im uninspired and unmotivated at work, I'm exhausted and unorganised at home. Workwise, I feel unappreciated and insecure, undriven (is there such a word at all???) and I just feel bored and useless. On the home front, the husband has been away for 2 weeks, Hannah B is acting up, terrible 2's starting a bit early I guess, the house is a mess and I feel like a zombie shifting from home to work to mom's place back to home for a night's sleep. And repeat for the next day. I miss talking to the husband, I miss cooking in my kitchen, I miss family time at the park during weekends, I miss looking forward to go back home after a long day's work at the office.

Blaaaaaarrrrggghhh..........

I feel so ungrateful for complaining and acting this way but I cant help it I guess. Well this better stop soon. I need a burst of positivity, ASAP!

Meet Hannah B, baby muslimah

Bring Muslims, our greatest wish is for Hannah to grow up to be a good practising Muslim. Adn forthat, I believe it is the responsibility of the parents to instill in her a solid strong foudation that will hopefully help guide her towards the path of living life the Islamic way. While this is no guarantee, Insya Allah by providing her with Halal food, exposing her to Quranic verses and Nasheed from birth and also by setting examples through our own behaviour, communication and interaction, Hannah has the basics in accepting Islam as her way of life.

It is not easy, unlearning and leaving habits that we have grown accustomed to. Reading, learning and practising new things. A struggle sometimes but Insya Allah this will elad to good things. In wanting our child to be good, it is only fair that we too become good. If this means less TV, changing our tone of speech, changing the words that we use to speak and taking up new positive virtuous activities, so be it. Personally, I have always strived towards becoming a better Muslim, but time and time again, my efforts are derailed from some weak excuse. Maybe Allah has decided that being a parent is the push that I need to go from wishing to be a better Muslim  to actually becoming one. Alhamdulillah, I have seen improvement in myself, in our family life and most importantly, I have seen Hannah following these good examples.

- She knows the need to read the doa before eating or if she wants anything from some one.
- She knows that the Azan is a saced time to be respected by silence followed by doa.
- She has shown interest in performing the prayers(solah) ans she knows that during solah we need to sujud.
- She recognises quranic recitation and at times I hear her humming/reading along.
- Occasionally, she will say bismillahirahmanirrahim while waiting at the dining table. (it sounds totally different but if you really concentrate on listening, you can make it out :)
- I notice that she is really observant and she recognises things like if mommy or nenek puts on the hijab, it means its time to go outside :)

Hannah B is 15 months

My darling daughter is growing up so fast. Alhamdulillah, so far she's been mostly healthy and trouble free. Besides the conjunctivitis scare, she has been mostly healthy and happy. Being the curious and mischivious little diva that she is, a few falls and bumps have occured but nothing that has caused a major scare.

Except for that fall during a shower at her Aunty F's house back in JB 2 weeks ago. Slippery floor, water and a baby who cant sit still is a dangerous combination. first time she fell on the back of her head. After a few minutes of crying ( pain and shock, i think) she was back to her playful self.

We thought she'd walk by her birthday, I guess she was thinking differently. She can walk, up to 10,15, 20 steps. Then, she'll lose her balance and start crawling again. Its her tiny cutie feet, or the fact that she just goes so fast and doesnt take the time to balance her body. So adorable watching her lurch forward with no direction or aim, just zooooom and boom, fall down.

Conversation wise, this girls talks a lot. I dont understand most of it but it sounds so interesting. Her nana (new name for her nenek) says she sounds french, while Uncle Aiman says it sounds more like Afrikan. Im not sure myself, I just love the sounds that she makes. Especially when she's playing by herself or talking to her 'friends' (soft toys in the form of Nyunyu, Moomoo, MoosyMoose, Dino, Teddy, Bigbear and Elmo).

She is so affectionate and attached to these friends of hers. Always hugging and kissing them. excpet for Bigbear, which she uses for wrestling purposes. and then she rides it like a horse.

She has now recognized all members of the immediate family and doesnt mind being carried by any of her Uncles. Kecik2 dah sow preference to bonding with the boys eh. She also enjoys playing dress up and makeovers, something she discovered while playing with Aunty F's accessories. Her new word that is a favourite of mine id 'Chanteek' which she'll say after trying on something and looking at the mirror. Oh, this baby loves the mirror. She loves looking at herself and kissing the reflection too.

Mak is very happy that her grandchild has shown inclination towards religious stuff. alhamdulillah for that. Hannah now knows that before she eats, she must read the prayers and she's quick to hold out her hands and put it to her face (amin....) when she wants something. At first the action was limited to when she wants food, but now she does it for everything. If she wants something, she'll straight away say 'Nak' and do the Amin motion. So hard to refuse a request then....haiiihhh

She also recognizes the adhan and recitation of Quran, she sometimes will keep quiet and raise her hands as if in prayer. Sometimes if its too long, then she'll just Amin and go back to playing. I also realise that lately she'll start humming/singing along if she hears the Quran. And i think she says 'Bismillahirrahmanirrahim' while i recite the doa makan.

Lately, she likes watching people perform solat. She even likes wearing the telekung and she'll start 'reciting' loudly. She even can sujud even though mostly she's not following the kiblat direction :P

Its amazing the sense of observation kids her age have. She knows that if I/her nana puts on our hijab that it means someone is going out. Or that the sound of the car's engine means that someone is going out. So, she'll rush towards the door or she'll asked to be carried so she can come along.

So many things to share but its getting too long to post. other bits of info to share.

- loves sitting in the driver seat and playing with the buttons/handles. Loves motorbike rides too.

- She now loves wearing shoes, but loves taking them off too!( learnt that the hard way, after I lost 1 of her MC sandals in Midvalley, grrr I loved those sandals and I cant find the same type anymore :(

-Loves eating big people food and has now turned into a picky eater who refuses to eat anything mushy or babylike. ( I have reluctantly added in some salt in her soups as she refuses to eat unseasoned food. I'm not happy about this, but I have no choice as other people keep on feeding her different kind of foods that has caused her to recognize different flavours, tastes and textures)

- Loves climbing up and down the stairs, complete with Tata at every step where she insists on everyone paying her full attention and cheering her on. (Seriously, this child is an attention seeker!!!)

- Loves cats, birds, dogs and all type of aminals that move or make sounds

Hannah B is 14 months

Hannah B at 14 months.....

- still cant walk, but we're getting there. Now, she can take about 3-4 steps before either turning back and falling or, losing her balance and falling. Sometimes she just gets lazy and drops on her bum, crawling instead to her destination.

- sangat talkative and communicative. I cant understand most of the things she says but she says it in such an expressive way, sangat cute and menggeramkan. And she makes the cutest soft sounds when she sees cats. like purring meowwing sounds combined.

- sangat cepat mengajuk. She has keen observation skills. She'll watch what you do and start following. Latest skills we've noticed include pointing to the car radio or AC button, playing with the light and wiper indicator. Pretend-driving. Cuba melipat baju.Switching on lampu (bukan attempt ok, she actually succeeded that one)

- adventurous eater. She tries everything that shecan. especially adult food. She loves eating what we eat. Snobby too when it comes to baby food. So, no more purees or plain porridge. Mommy will have to learn to be more creative with food.

- she has shown inclination towards drawing. Everytime she sees a pen/pencil, she'll look around for a paper or book and mock write/draw on it.

13 months and growing....

Hannah turned 13 months while we were in Penang. While she hasnt had a superfast growth development, She has been up to so many new things lately.

- She still cant walk yet, but we're getting there...slowly. In all honesty< I dont mind her starting to walk late because even know I'm struggling to keep up with her antiques. At the moment, she is able to stand for a few seconds before plopping down again. Most of the time, she thinks its a game and will start laughing the moment she falls on her bum. :)

- She started showing interest in the stairs about a month ago, but only 2 days ago did she actually start climbing it. I was upstairs and she was playing with her ayah downstairs, I could hear her talking gibberish from where I was so I knew she was nearby but I was really surprised to find her almost near the middle landing of the staircase. She had climbed up 8 stairs without either of us noticing!!!  Thank God nothing happened. But such an accomplishment. She really does know no fear, that one. (note to self : buy the Lindam gate, soon)

- Some people say, babies who learn to walk late, learn to speak faster. So true in Hannah's case. So talkative. I love her voice and the funny sounds that we dont understand. The few words that we have been able to understand are meme(mummy), nenek, ayah, abah (referring to my dad, her grandpa) nak and taknak. We also think she can say banana.

_ She has this thing that she does when she's tired and on the bed. She'll try to carry and hand over a pillow to me. For days I could not get what she wanted me to do. Taking it from her would lead to a scream. Shewasn't interested in a game of pillow throwing either. It  turned out that it was a sign from her that she wants to be fed. (Coz I would always take a pillow, put in on my lap and pick her up for her nursing) So now she can dictate when she wants her milk. And she's very firm about when she wants to stop too. No means no. She'll shake her head firmly and try to roll down to start playing again.

- she weighs 7.6kg last we checked. But since she had diarhea last week, maybe she ahas lost a bit of weight.

Hannah B is 13 months

The one on moogoo, an update.

Okay, so we (both Hannah and me) have been using moogoo products for 2 weeks. generally I'm very happy with the results. We started out with 2 tubs of scalp cream. One for our home use and the other for my use in the office. Since I work in AC, my skin gets really dry. Especially since I'm not a big water drinker. (Note to self: drink more water). Scalp cream makes the skin much softer and since skin is moisturized, there is less tendency for baby to start scratching. But moisterizer/emollients are not enough on its own since eczema is more than just keeping the skin hydrated. Factors like food triggers and environment issues (dust and hot weather being the main culprits for Hannah) is also a concern for me. Especially at this stage where she is so curious, crawling everywhere and eating almost anything she can put in her mouth.

So, happy with the scalp cream, I purchased Moogoo's eczema starter pack which consist of the Milk wash, a tube of Udder Cream (moisterizer), a tube of Irrtable Skin Balm (applied during scratching fits, it helps stop the itching) and a pump of MSM (which is good to be applied at red irritated areas, it contains a type of sulphur that fastens the skin healing process). So far so good. I'm not saying its a miracle cream coz Hannah still scratch at times (when it's hot and she's sweating or when she's eaten something that she's allergic to) but it's less scratching now and her skin is so soft now (am reminded of the newborn days :) ...). The area around her ankles are still dry but thats where here skin is the worse anyway, maybe I need to put the cream on more frequently.

All in all, its a product that I'm happy with. From the all natural ingredients, the reasonable pricing and the fact that I can also use it on MY skin, I will be a repeat customer of Moogoo :)

From the reading and research that I have made, I realise that i have so much to be thankful for. What Hannah has is a very mild form of eczema. When in comparison to what other children , and their mothers have to go through, Hannah and I are so blessed. Insya Allah, with better management of our food, laundry and home cleanliness. eczema wont be major headache for us anymore.

To those who are lucky enough to be in am Eczema-free household, please be more understand with us who have to go through this. Some steps that you can take:
1- eczema is not contagious, so you can stop those negative looks and comments.
2- please refrain from feeding an Eczema child anything before you get permission from the parent. A small bite of food can cause a lot of hassle and pain for the child.
3- Education is the key, read it up or ask from others who have experienced or am going through Eczema.

On my part, Moogoo scalp cream has replaced my Clarins cream. I am still using Clarins for sunblock because it is so far the best, non- greasy sunblock I've tried. I'm experimenting using the Milk wash as a facial cleanser (I love how soft my skins is after using it, But the milky smell is something I'm still getting used to). Next purchase...shampoo perhaps???

13 month old Hannah goes to Penang

Hannah B turned 13 months last Friday. We were in Penang for work. I packed along the husband and baby for a short working holiday.

We left home at 7 am on Thursday. Bad timing as the traffic heading north was horrible. Morning traffic made worse by the rain. Well, at least our trip was not super hot, I kind of enjoy the chilly weather during travelling. Hungry tummies got filled up at Subway for breakfast. I love the bread there. Continued the journey to Gopeng for my first pit stop. Arrived there around 11.30. Left the baby and husband in the car while I met my student. Came out of the meeting room to find them waiting outside. Guess waiting in the car was too boring for her....hehehe. Curious little Hannah wanted to do some exploring I guess.

Back in the car to continue our journey to Penang. We planned to stop for my favourite mee udand Sg Dua, but stupid GPS thing could not locate the place. End up driving straight into the Island.

We stayed in Hydro Hotel which was so-so. It was worth the good deal I got from Agoda but I don't think we'll be coming again. Lovely Hotel and good facilities but the room was so dissappointing. Must be the new management, felt like we were in a 90's hotel. Such dated furniture.( complete with lumpy mattress and big fat boxy TV - seriously, who uses that kinda TV anymore these days....)
Beside the room, not much to complain about. The breakfast was okay, lovely lobby, big clean swimming pool and it had this access road to the beach. Not that we spent that much time on the beach, Hannah preferred the pool.

Penang being Penang, the best thing to mention was the good food. No pics as we were too busy eating. Kapitan Naan and butter chicken (twice!) and Line Clear Nasi Kandar. We had to forego the others as I was on a working trip, not foodie session.

It was great that i had time to catch up with two old friends from study days, Fazmur and Aimy Fatin. Thank you ladies for the hospitality.

Once we were back on mainland only did I notice that we didnt even take pics in front of Hard Rock Hotel. grrr...it rained while we were exploring in Batu Feringgi the first night, and I guess we totally forgot about it later...

The one about her teeth

Hannah B now has 4 teeth. 2 at the bottom, which came out about a month ago. The first upper one came out almost 2 weeks ago, and I realised she had another one last weekend.

Favourite activity now is biting. Biting during feeding, or when anyone offers a hand. Now that she has started crawling, she'd actually crawl up to people and bite them on the knee.

Last weekend, while in PD, she was made to sleep early. Unhappy with the early bedtime, she tried to get me to pick her up for more playtime. I played asleep. Unwilling to give up, she started making cute noises, talked to her self and when that didn't work, she nuzzled my face, planting wet sloppy kisses and hitting my nose. when that didn't work, she bit my arm. ouch! Her last resort was wailing, prompting her nenek to pick her up.... spoilt little cucu she is...

Hannah B turns 10 months

a few days late, but here's a pic of  my 10 month old lil princess.

10 month updates:
1. more talkative and friendly. like really friendly! she tries to communicate with everyone. And she's much more approachable too. She will now allow other people besides her mummy or nenek B to carry her around, especially when you have food or want to go outside the house. Hannahku is such an outdoorsy person.

2. Her vocal skills are much improved. Louder and more sounds. her favourites are the growlig sound which she makes when she's angry, or excited or trying to get someone's attention. She also likes saying bababa or aba, aba (which annoys her dad who wants to be called 'Ayah' ...hehehe.

3. She finally said 'mama' but just once . We were in the car, driving back from Shah Alam after visiting her Grandpi Jos. She was in her car seat, and was trying to get my attention to pick her up. She raised her arms and sid 'mama' with this pitiful look on her voice, so comical. When I asked for a repeat, she went bak to her usual bababa sounds.... still waiting to hear that word again til now.

4.Her first 2 teeth are finally out and fully visible. Ouwwwch, she bites hard. Am trying to reduce numbers and length of direct feeding as it hurts when she bites down. These days she loves teething on fabric. especially towels and mummy's tudung.

5. She can crawl now. Not much, maybe around 10 steps before she gets tired, but the first time it happened was amazing. She's been trying for a few weeks so when it actually happened, I was caught by surprise. She raised her bum, and slowly her wobbly legs raised and moved. Then she gave a self-satisfied grin as if saying, I did it!

6. Her temperament is much better. Such a happy, smiley baby. And very curious. She observes and notices everything now. Newest skill, reaching into mummy's handbag for the Iphone and unzipping handbags. She also knows how ta take the house keys from the coffee table now.

7. She can easily get to a standing position now, favourite spot is by the bad where she'll lift herself up and just stand there waiting for someone to carry her up the bed.

8. She understands when people say no. but I don't think she understands what it means. She'll just look at you and smile and if you repeat no, no,no then she'll start moving her head up and down while laughing.

9. She eats a lot but doesn't drink much milk these days. Yesterday, Opah said, she only drank once. But she finished 2 containers of potato and chicken porridge.  I mostly home cook her meals but occasionally she eats cerelac. Alhamdulillah, Hannah B isn't a picky eater. She eats everything, but has started this new habit of picking food out from her mouth, examining and picking at it for a while before putting it back in her mouth! yucks, I know but I think she's just learning about different tastes and textures of food.

10. I started her on formula 2 weeks ago, but she doesn't seem to like it much. Alhamdulillah, while not as plentiful as it used to be,  I still have sufficient milk supply for Hannah. Formula was introduced more as a Plan B thing, just in case I have to be away form home for training or outstation work. We gave her AnMum, which she drinks (not in big quantities) but gives her side effect of redness on the skin and itchiness. The doctor suspects lactose intolerance and recommends a soy-based formula. Im trying her with S-26 first. If the same thing happens, I'm switching her to Isomil.

11. She loves swimming, loves water and now loves watching the water from the shower. ( I suspect she'll be one of those kids that love running around in the rain...just like her mummy ;)

12. Obsessed with her reflection in the mirror. Almost always work to calm her down from a crying fit. Just carry her to the nearest big mirror and ask her to smile, she will. Then she'll try to talk and touch 'the other Hannah'

13. She has shown sensitivity towards emotions. She'll stop crying if I pretend to cry, give me a look as if to say dont cry mommy... but then she'll return to playing with her toys. She's also shown signs of jealousy and can give the 'look' if she feels threatened by someone or something.

14. She loves songs and cartoons. And can recognise familiar songs. If she's feeding and I play a familiar song, she'll stop for a while, peek at the iphone/tablet and then continue feeding, eyes on the screen.

15. Clingy and wants to be carried around all the time. but once you're carrying her, she'll toss and turn everywhere. Hannah B is a very active and lasak baby. I have no idea where she gets that from. mummy is such a couch potato...

I daydream of ...a family portrait

Eyes of grace photog, Zubye takes beautiful pictures of children and babies. some of her photos that are personal favourites include these:

For me, Zubye's photos are equivalent to the talent of Daniel Zain who does awesome wedding shots.

Taking photos of children is not easy. I cant even take nice shots of my Hannah B, let alone of other kids. But there's just something about Zubye's style. I've been admiring her work since my days of pregnancy. During those super bad bouts of morning(and night!) sickness, gazing at her photos had that calming effect for me, as if reassuring that it'll be all right and all this will be worth it once the baby arrives. So, naturally, now that Hannah B is approaching 1 years old, I'd really like Zubye to capture her on film.

I just need to think of some ideas for this shoot...theme...location...ideas anyone?

pictures worth a thousand kisses

I'm probably the only mother on earth whose Iphone is full (literally!, I have nothing but Hannah B pics on my phone) with baby pics. Since I need to take new pics of her, I finally transferred it away. YeaY another 16GB available for more Hannah B pics :).

Here's a short compilation of her pics on her birthdays from 5m to 9 m. She's turning 10m in a few days. So fast time flies. I didnt have time to document her day to day developments...sob sob.

I daydream of ....a spa session

One of my all time loves are spa sessions. Be it facials, massages, scrubs... or whatever, I love body pampering. A chunk of my monthly salary goes to these kind of treatments. Its probably one of the things I missed most since being a wife and mother. I just have no time for it anymore, also the fact that funds to be spent on such 'frivolous' activities are very limited, much more important stuff that are needed (specifically home and baby needs).

For months people have been going on about milkadeal, groupon and other online shopping deals, so I joined a few weeks ago and purchased my first deal last week. A 2 hour massage and scrub session at Poise Organic Wellness Centre.  When will I use it? still unsure, cant wait tho. This body of mine is in deep need of some pampering :)

I daydream of.....a holiday

Its September and we havent gone a holiday yet this year. For someone who loves travelling, 9 months is way too long to go on without a holiday. Well, there were some minitrips through out the year...Kuantan, Cameron Highlands, Cherating but that doesnt count coz it was more like a family outing. I want a holiday of just me, the husband and baby Hannah...

Factors that are hindering this include no money (lots of house debt, I never realised moving into our own home would be so costly), no time (the husband's working commitments are really driving me crazy, too much time away, and too short a notice so we cant plan things in near future) and mostly the fear of 'can we actually travel and enjoy the trip when the baby is tagging along??????'

A friend of mine just returned from an island holiday and she took along her 5 months old baby. well, if she can do it, whats stopping us right??? If I leave this to the husband, we'll never go anyway, so it's all up to me to make this happen. Just need a place thats local (hannah B has no passport, her mommy's one expired in june :P), cheap (again, we're broke) and not too far as we can only take a few days off work. I dont like going on holidays during weekends as I hate thetraffic jams, and the crowds and things tend to be so much more expensive.

That'll limit us to a few choices which include...

1) Penang...( i would love to try staying at the Hard Rock Hotel, and the food itself is worth the 5 hour journey)

2) Melaka...( its only 2 hours away, good food and we can go visit Mel :) and nice place for photo opportunities)

3) Cameron Highlands... (I love the weather, and I love fresh roses)

4) errr... I'm out of options

Hannah B is 7 months

entry that is 3 weeks overdue. what can I do, lately I've been really caught up with work, home and family matters. Much needs to be done to improve my time management skills.

Hannah's achievements lately has been amazing, well to me at least. Some of the jawdropping skills that she likes to show off now include:

* being so talkative and expressive. Its mostly TATATA or DADADA or BABABA and a series of yelps, shrieks and growls but with different intonations, speed and length. I seriously believe she's trying to talk to me sometimes :)

* she dah pandai merajuk. Pushing away or refusing to acknowledge people when they greet her (these days she cannot pretend that she doesnt know people are calling her because I know she recognises her name)

* my headstrong girl can say no now, well not verbally but she shows her dissapproval or frustration very verbally ( paling muka, keraskan badan, throwing stuff, and the most annpying way....crying)

* her rolling over has now become her main mode of transportation, even if something is quite far, if she really wants it, she'll find a way to get it, even if it means she'll have to golek, gostan for quite a few minutes. But when she's in her lazybaby mood, she'll just give up, dramatically rest her head on the floor/bed and give her pitiful face expecting someone to come to her rescue. (Mak says we shouldnt entertain this as some people say that when a baby is so used to being helped, she'll grow up expecting the same ...old wives tale or true story? there is some logic to it I guess.

* She has what her uncle esan calls two distinctive smiles.First, the naughty smile which is an indication that she's gonna do something mischievous or she's trying to test us to see how far will we entertain her antics and secondly, the sweet smile ( the kinda smile that melts butter, that makes you go ooooh aaaahh, which makes you think of all things sweet and cute) which is usually given when she wants you to carry her, or she wants something from you and mostly given when she realises that mommy or ayah is here to come take her home.

*latest skill that I realised 2 days ago was she has learnt how to play with her tongue. A very geli geli skill that I do not appreciate. She's moved on from just sucking and licking things, now she actually likes sticking her tongue out. When i tell her to stop, she'll pull it out further or start giggling. (my daughter has a long tongue, for some reason, it makes me all geli when she does that.

I wanted to write a bit about her eating habits since she started on solids but I'll keep that for another entry. Now, if I could finally locate where the Iphone pics are...
